Lazarus is Cincinnati's DJ STATUS, reborn. After more than two decades on Midwest stages, supporting Combichrist, sharing bills with Antiserum and Riot Ten, and beating Slipknot's Sid Wilson in a DJ battle, Alistair McDowell steps forward as his long-time ghost-producer persona, with a darker sound he calls Electrocore. Lazarus is the return of Alistair McDowell, the Cincinnati DJ and producer known for more than two decades as DJ STATUS. For years, Lazarus was the name he worked under in the shadows as a ghost producer. Now it is the name on the bill.

As STATUS, McDowell built his reputation across the Ohio Valley and beyond. He joined the Next Era Entertainment roster and released the Altered Egos EP in 2013, the same summer he shared the bill with San Francisco's Antiserum at Thompson House. He went on to play direct support for Combichrist on the One Fire North American Tour, shared a lineup with international DJ Riot Ten, and won a DJ battle against Slipknot's Sid Wilson at the band's official Riverbend after-party. In 2022 he ran the Status Takeover residency at Bircus Brewing's Ludlow Theatre, and in 2024 he played to roughly 2,000 people at Flanigan's in Dayton for St. Patrick's Weekend.

Lazarus pushes all of that into Electrocore: heavy kicks, rolling low end and industrial texture, sounds a crowd recognizes but cannot place. His Electrocore remixes of Maphra and Skrillex are out now, and the debut EP My Name Is is coming soon. With 60,000+ followers across social platforms, Lazarus is now booking national and international dates.
